Despite my best efforts and desire to see the Ratty Challenge all the way through, Greer and I met up at 8 AM for her to swipe me into that monument to all nasty college food - THE RATTY.
To my surprise, the band ISN'T the only one here. There are at least 2 sports teams sharing the Ratty with us, although its anyone's guess as to who they are. Although, I'm pretty sure one of them is Women's Water Polo. There is also a men's team that might be water polo or track or swimming or soccer. The weird thing is that this men's team seems to be having some sort of bro-award ceremony. Apparently the Ratty is better than the Marriott where Band does it's own derpy award ceremony. They keep clapping, which sounds really odd in a huge cafeteria that is basically empty except for Band, Women's Water Polo, and a few random stragglers that have homework already. In the spirit of cooperation between the AD and the Band, the few Bandies who are here have started helping them with the clapping.
Okay, for a complete change of subject - what did I bring?
- my laptop -- because I have HW already and figure that at some point in this entire day I may be motivated to do about an hour of work, also to write blog posts, also to send emails to alumni
- Sound-proof headphones -- for when I decide to do homework
- a charger -- I almost forgot this, but imperative to my Ratty Challenge Survival
- my own coffee in a Blue State coffee mug -- I refuse to drink the stuff they serve here
- my ipad -- so we can skype/google hangouts with multiple people at a time, also because my laptop has really bad speakers
- and DUSKY -- as Dusky's current guardian I couldn't let him miss out on all the fun. He looks a bit bemused about why we're here but is ready to go all the same
