It's funny when you find yourself
Skyping with the Brown Band
I'm sitting here but all I want
Is to be not in the Ratty. And

Why did I let myself believe
I wouldn’t leave the gates?
'Cause now I have to pretend
That I want the Ratty plates

I thought I’d always be in the Band
A dream when I'm not jamammieing
A wish upon Elrod
That I'm never leaving

But everybody else could tell
That I confused the Ratty with emotional stability
When José swiped me and you

I swore I knew the Alma Mater
That I never heard you singing (i.e., we lost a lot of games)
And when you smiled you made me feel
Like I could fake along

But then you went and changed the words
Now my heart is empty
I'm only left with the time-honored walls
And once upon a hall (Walls before halls!)

Now I know you're not the V-Dub
Since you don’t have its waffles
And your chicken nuggs
Just don't come regularly

'Cause now even I can tell
That I confused Settlers of Catan with a meaningful way to pass the day
Because I wanted the longest road
When José swiped me and you

I can't believe that I could be so bored
It's like you were a bunch of pixels on a screen because the Ratty wifi isn’t perfect
And I didn't mind
'Cause I liked the view
I thought you felt it too
When José swiped me and you
