Counting Down

Well, it's t-minus less than 24 hours until the beginning of the challenge, so if I'm not ready now, I probably never will be. Just to clarify, I heard some rumors about my reputation as an engineer being in doubt due to a lack of definition about the Ratty coordinate system, so here's a brief explanation, and please correct me if someone knows that I'm wrong. The Ratty coordinate system was invented in 2010, when Max and Mike would sit at the table in the far right corning of the ratty (facing the direction you would when entering the dining hall). They called this table the Origin. For the purposes of the challenge, they moved three tables to the East (I think that's east) in order to be closer to a power outlet. They deemed this table (0, 3). I personally think this system makes no sense. If I were designing the coordinate system, I would place the origin at the center of the room, because that's where you get the food, which (believe it or not) is the main purpose of the Ratty. I would also have designated the table locations in spherical coordinates, because I'm a dick. However, I chose to honor the systems laid down by those who have moved on the grad school in Boston, and referred to the table in their nonsensical coordinate system.

Anyway, the Ratty menu for tomorrow is posted, and I'm not super excited.
Some Highlights:
-tater tots for breakfast
-Thanksgiving dinner
-Pumpkin ravioli (which I've never had, but sounds pretty tasty)
Some Mediumlights
-vegetarian tacos, which means I'll probably make a taco with meat using stuff from the grill line
Some Lowlights:
-Steak Fries
-Basically everything else

Looks like I'm going to eat 4 different kinds of omelettes for breakfast, second breakfast, lunch, and early afternoon tea (I'm on a bit of a Hobbit kick right now, so be prepared)

I also decided to plan ahead and get everything together that I will need for the Challenge. Here's an image and comprehensive list of my supplies.
  • (1) Surge protector w/ extension cord, so that Wilson and I will no longer be prone to surges.
  • (1) 15" macbook pro w/ accompanying power cord and ipod plug, circa 2009
  • (10) pairs of earplugs
  • (some) duct tape
  • (1) tube of spf 15 sunscreen (you never know)
  • (1) flashlight, for safety
  • (2) #2 mechanical pencils
  • (1) fisticup
  • (2) books for architecture project
  • (2) Nietzsche books, for some light reading
  • (1) Philosophy course packet, in case I want some more Nietzsche
  • (2) clean socks and (1) clean pair of underwear (you really never know)
  • (1) bulky hat
  • (1) balls headband

That's all for now. I'm really looking forward to this adventure. Stay tuned.
